Every Cuaba is made in the distinctive shape known as Double Figurado. This style at the end of the 19th Century was the most fashionable style from Habanos. A century later, in 1996 this rich tradition was brought back to life at the Romeo y Julieta factory. Double Figurados are the pinnacle of the cigar maker’s art and skill, therefore they enjoy a place in every cigar aficionado’s humidor.

Cuaba initially only offered just four relatively small sizes, after 2003 three much larger vitolas were introduced, the Distinguido, the Salomón and the Diadema, released as part of the standard range. Cuaba, like Cohiba is a Taino Indian word dating back to the time of Columbus and before. It was the name given for a combustible bush, which the Taino Indians used to light their ‘Cohibas’. All the cigar references are made up of a medium to full flavoured blend filler with binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone and are Tripa Larga, Totalmente a Mano long filler, each and every part of them being hand made.
